Coaches

Michelle Palmer - Owner/Coach

As fitness enthusiast, mother to three active children, wife, Elite CrossFit Athlete/Olympic lifter, and business owner, Michelle has had several life experiences and opportunities that have helped her overcome many personal weaknesses and further develop her strengths.

At a very young age, dance became her first lifelong passion. From preschool through college, her intense dedication to dance instilled a unique grit, perseverance, discipline, and the ability to work hard. These qualities and experiences earned her a dance/student government scholarship for college.

Graduating on the Dean’s list with a bachelor’s degree in sports science and PE, she went on to earn her license as a Certified Personal Trainer, Yoga/Pilates instructor, and CF-L1 trainer.  These endeavors sparked the beginning of what would become her greatest passion: Fitness.

Throughout the past several years and phases of life, she’s worked relentlessly to pursue fitness goals. Whether it was trying to stay active during her pregnancies, lose 50+ pounds of post-baby weight, preparing for a physique show, competing in an Olympic lifting meet, or working to become an Elite CrossFit Athlete, she’s confronted many unique challenges that required an immense amount of dedication and tenacity. She’s been blessed with the gift of persistence, and through her experiences, has learned she can accomplish anything she is willing to work for. Because of this perspective, she feels a great need and desire to share what she’s learned with others.

Michelle has years of competitive CrossFit experience and has success competing on the local and national level.

This year Michelle has qualified for the 2021 NOBULL CrossFit Games as a Masters Athlete. Her ultimate goal is to inspire others to have the courage to do hard things, dream big, and work toward achieving those dreams. She truly believes her life’s work is helping people find the drive, desire, and spirit to live a life of excellence.

Luke Palmer - Owner/Coach

Luke grew up with a love for sport and athletics.  At a young age Luke excelled because of his hard work and natural ability. Luke’s senior year he earned All-State football and baseball honors.  He was drafted as a pitcher for the Kansas City Royal Organization his senior year of high school. Luke went on to play professional baseball for 6 years.

While playing for the Idaho Falls Chukars, Luke met his wife, Michelle.  He now shares his love and knowledge for sports with his 3 kids.  He spends any spare time he has coaching and mentoring kids and teens in the area.  Luke has a passion for sport and fitness and serves as a great role model in the community.

COACH MATT

Matt was introduced to CrossFit early in 2012. Having been a high school athlete year round (football to wrestling to track and field) as well as being part of powerlifting club year round, he felt he was failing himself and his family at almost 300lbs not being able to keep up with his kids. He joined CrossFit and never looked back.

Matt has coached now for just over a decade having both a CF-L1 and CF-L2. Just recently Matt received is CrossFit Level 3 certification or his Certified CrossFit Trainer Credential. Matt is also the Head of Coach’s Development program at CrossFit Tsavo.

Matt loves to help people find their true potential, pushing people past their preconceived notions of what they thought they could do. Matt is a believer of “holding the standard” whether at the gym or at one of the many local/regional competitions he judges at.

COACH KELSEY

Kelsey was a gymnast for 14 years, earning a full-ride athletic scholarship to Boise State University. While on the Boise State gymnastics team she won the 2009 NCAA Western Athletic Conference Championship on the balance beam. At Boise State University, Kelsey attained a BA in Communication and a Master of Education in Special Education.

After college, life without gymnastics led her on a path of discovery about fitness and health. In 2017, Kelsey had just learned about CrossFit from a friend at work. He would go to a 5am CrossFit class and then share the workout with Kelsey by 6am so she could do it in the gym at her work.

It wasn’t until 2020, when Kelsey and her husband decided to finally join a CrossFit gym. She did CrossFit until 38 weeks pregnant and post baby re-learned toes to bar and bar muscle ups (again). In 2023, Kelsey and her family moved from Boise to Idaho Falls and joined Tsavo.

Kelsey is a CF-L1 Trainer, has almost a decade of experience in the Health & Fitness Industry and extensive gymnastics knowledge.

Kelsey and her husband John have two children Lola and Teddy. Outside of Tsavo she loves camping with her family, slacklining and feeling strong.

COACH DYLAN

Dylan was first introduced to CrossFit in 2018. After almost passing out and throwing up in his first class, he was hooked. Weird right? You may have a similar experience. He then bounced around to gyms around East Idaho over the next couple of years.

Once he got to college, Dylan got serious about CrossFit and other physical activities. He has run multiple Spartans and tried his hand at long bike races and half marathons.

Dylan received his CF-L1 in 2024 and his passion for CrossFit has grown so much since then. He LOVES seeing other people succeed in and out of the gym.

Outside of the gym, Dylan runs a lawn care company. He loves camping, hiking, spending time with family, and most of all being with his wife, Elle.

COACH KRYSTAL

Krystal thrives on helping others succeed while balancing the demands of her career and family life. She finds joy in watching people achieve their fitness goals and overcome challenges. Having first drank the Kool-Aid in 2015, CrossFit has been a big part of Krystal’s life and helped give her the mental and physical strength to heal from injuries sustained in 2019 and 2022 that were acquired outside of the gym. She knows the comeback is always stronger than the setback, and no matter where you are in life, you never fail unless you stop trying.

While it has only been since March of 2024 that Krystal obtained her CF-L1, she knows you don’t have to be the best, you only have to do your best, and she looks forward to the opportunity to grow and learn in this new role.
Outside of work and the gym, she loves anything with a throttle, embracing the thrill of adventure and speed. Her passion for fitness and dedication to her roles inspire her to bring energy and commitment to every aspect of her life.

COACH AUBREY

COACH SAMANTHA

Samantha started CrossFit back in 2018. After playing college softball I was looking for something I could put my competitiveness and drive into that’s when my hair dresser introduced me to CrossFit. It was a place I felt welcomed instantly. I love being able to push my body to new limits and seeing what I’m capable of.

I got certified for my L1 in the fall of 2019. The community and lifelong relationships makes CrossFit so unique. I love seeing people achieve their goals from small to large, and watching their confidence grow to push themselves farther than they thought possible.

In my spare time you will find my coaching softball, competing in CrossFit competitions, and spending time outdoors.

COACH KELSEY

From a young age, health and fitness have been central to my life. Growing up, I traveled the world with my mom, learning how to transform standard American recipes into delicious, healthy alternatives using just fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds. We then shared what we learned by teaching classes.

My love for fitness started early. I grew up with six older brothers and would join their wrestling conditioning sessions for the challenge. I discovered CrossFit in 2016, three years after having my first son, and instantly fell in love. I continued CrossFit on and off through the arrival of my next two boys and jumped back into the gym full-time in 2021 when Tsavo opened.

Last year, I had the incredible experience of ranking in the top 40 in North America and competing at the semifinals. I’m now excited to start coaching and be part of others’ health journeys. It’s an experience that can truly change lives!

Outside the gym, I run Kelsi’s Kitchen, where I create healthy, refrigerated chocolates sold in natural grocery chains across America. My husband and I are also busy raising our three boys, ages 11, 6, and 3.

I can’t wait to bring my passion for fitness and health to this community and help you achieve your goals! Michelle Palmer
